"There is a backpack in the mind
which over the years has become
filled with rocks and stones.
You do not have to carry them anymore.
You can empty your pack
and carry only compassion
from one day to the next."
William Martin. (2000). Ancient advice for the second half of life. New York: The Experiment, p. 47. It’s great advice at anytime. Thank you, Peter @ Fernwood Zendo. (via crashinglybeautiful)

We’re such powerful human beings. We genuinely have so much power in our hands, and have the ability to change so many things. A lot of the times we don’t take advantage of this and I don’t know why. Maybe we’re scared to make a move, or comfortable with living the way we do. We’re capable of so much but we continue to hold ourselves back. We are our own worst enemies.
